Are you a runner looking to improve your all round fitness, do you want to give yourself that bit of an edge? Improve your core strength and improve your running. We are offering you a chance of training in the great outdoors.
These sessions will be a Runner’s Strength and Conditioning based workout, this will be held outdoors and based on a mixture of Circuits type sessions and Group sessions, but the difference will be that the exercises will be chosen with the aim of being as specific as possible for a runner. We will try to include in the sessions some developement around the technical aspects of running using drills and exercises to help improve your running. These are areas that runners tend to ignore but could help them take the next step to improvement, most Circuits classes are of a general type, but ours will be actually targeted at runners, the Conditioning sessions are an area that most runners are probably unaware of.
Strength & Conditioning - outdoor session
Starting Saturday 26th November 2017
Meet at the start/finish area of Cardiff parkrun, we will be heading off at 9.40am.
These sessions will be outdoor based and mainly on grass, but if weather dictates they will be done on a more appropriate surface. The sessions will predominately be made up of exercises to help improve your Core and Strength aimed at Runner's which will help improve your running economy and conditioning. These sessions will be body weight only.
No need to pre-sign up, just be there ready to go.
You may want to bring some dry clothes as you may get a bit wet and dirty - we will be outdoors.

Conditioning / Circuits - indoor session

These sessions will be studio based and will mainly follow a mixed format of traditional circuit type sessions, with some being by group instruction. The sessions will follow the basic programme of: Warm Up, Stretching, Workout, and Warm Down.
Whereas traditional Circuits are based on a general all-round fitness, our sessions will use exercises that have been specifically selected to work on the areas needed for running and more importantly for improving your running. These will include both body weight exercises and where appropriate weights or resistance items.
Fees
1 hr Runner's Strength Circuit: pre booked as a 6 week block £27 (£4.50 per session)
pay as you go £5 per session
